Paralimpical Games

The paralympical games of 2012, will take place between the 29th of August and the 9th of September of 2012. The event will be welcomed by London, which won the privilege of holding the Olympics. There will be 1,6 millions of possible entries.
Wenlock y Mandeville are the oficial pets of the Olympics and Paralympics of London 2012. Designed by the Company of Iris Design. Practiclly, half of the twenty sports will take place in the Olympic Park, and the rest in the zone of the Thames river. Between this two zones there are more or less fifteen minutes by car.
The Paralympic games are so important, because its objective is making feel paralytic people that they can compete in sports, that their paraplegia is not a problem to keep improving their possibilities in the sports world. Also, they feel welcomed by the society and they don’t feel displaced. It’s an amazing way to make this people happy, as they can see they’re not so different than others.

Paraplegic Swimming
This Paralympic sport is played by a lot of paraplegic people like blinds, invalids or mentally disabled. They jump into the swimming pool without any help and following the same rules as the Olympics. The only rule that changes, is the possibility of start swimming since the water or the visual when they are closed of the wall.
While blinds and mentally disabled compete in a category, invalids and mentally paralytics compete in another one. This system is in order to group the people with similar functional aptitudes.

Footbal for blinds
This sport is played by Blind people. People think this sport is dangerous but although there is a lot of physical contact, it’s not more dangerous than a normal match. It has a polished regulation and worked, and it shows it’s not dangerous if it’s played in a suitable structure, the rules always look after the player. In this sport, the contact with the rival is constant. There are eight players on the coach, four for a team. They play the ball in a 20m for 40m coach. Football for blinds is played outside, in the open, in order to improve the hearing of the players. Its surface is built of cement, or artificial grass, to make the ball sound.
This sport requires orientation, calculation of the space, technique and body domain. Also, it needs an important psychic ability, a lot of concentration so as to keep the order, listen to their guides and keep the communication with their peers. Confidence, balance and physical qualities are very important factors in this sport. They are used to be very participative and interesting with their own team, like this they motive their peers and themselves, too.

Athletic for blinds
The Athletics is one of the most important sports in blinds world. It’s played in International competitions, in more than seventy countries, despite of the Paralympics. They use the same rules as the Olympic games, less the Racing with obstacles, jumping and the pole. Sometimes, it’s necessary to change the installations because of the deficiencies of the runners. Sometimes it requires also changing the way to use them and the rules, depending of the grade of vision. Runners can receive help if they need it, like athletic guides or caller guides in jumping or throwing. Normally, in horizontal jumps, the stamp board is replaced by an area marked with lime that allows the athletes to see the last step before the jump.
